FMPG2F HIGH-VOLTAGE DIODES

Out Of Stock FMPG2F HIGH-VOLTAGE DIODES

FMPG2F HIGH-VOLTAGE DIODEs / RECTIFIERs
INDUCTIVE DAMPING DIODEs / DAMPER DIODEs
1500V, 5A, Trr=300ns, SANKEN

New old stock (NOS). Note that the legs are full-length and not clipped. These Sanken Diodes / Rectifiers are very fast FMPG2F High-Voltage Diodes, FMPG2F Damping Diodes / Damper Diodes. 1500V, 5A, Trr=300ns, Vf=2V. A damping diode is almost always required when you are switching or driving high-inductive loads - transformers and inductors. Without a proper damping diode, your circuit is much more likely to catastrophically fail. Using an ordinary diode (e.g. 1N4007) will likely not help much because they are far too slow (your driving transistor or switching transistor will have been damaged before the ordinary diode kicks in) and not enough voltage or amperage (your diode will also likely to fail). Damping diodes are normally wired between the collector and emitter of a bipolar transistor (drain and source of MOSFETs), but are also often wired across the secondary of the driven transformer or a high-current switch contacts as well (usually along with a RC damping circuit) to minimize inductive spikes. While the FMPG2F Damper Diodes are especially designed for damping applications, they can also be used for many other high-voltage diode applications.
